Transcript Summary
00:00 – Opening Remarks
Dominick DeLuca:
Welcome to what may be the final NETS podcast — and we’re going out with a bang. I’m here in lovely Newtown… Pennsylvania, not Connecticut! I’m joined by Dave Neal and Shane Filer of Neal Systems, who are taking over the New England Temperature Solutions business starting January 1st. Let’s get to know them — and their team.
00:29 – Meet Dave and Shane
Dave Neal:
I’m Dave Neal, CEO of Neal Systems. I came to the U.S. in 1980 and started this company in 1986. We’ve grown to over 65 people and pride ourselves on delivering systems-based solutions — not just products.
Shane Filer:
I’m Shane Filer, President at Neal Systems. Born and raised in Pennsylvania. Been here almost 25 years. I started in the temperature business 30 years ago — Honeywell, Leads & Northrup — and now I get to help expand our reach into New England.
04:30 – Why NETS Chose Neal Systems
Dominick:
I’ve known you both for a long time. I chose you for a reason — your culture, engineering depth, and your ability to have fun while getting things done.
Dave:
Our focus has always been providing complete, turnkey systems for the process control industry — from hardware to engineering to service.
08:00 – What Customers Can Expect
Dominick:
NETS customers want to know what’s changing. The short answer? More support, more expertise — and the same great service.
Dave:
We’re bringing in your core team: Andy Bower, Paul, and Lisa — critical people who understand the region and the customer base.
Shane:
And while people are worried about losing Bob Pierce, we’ve got a whole team of “Bobs” — engineers with decades of experience in Eurotherm, Honeywell, and more.
10:15 – Engineering Strength & Local Resources
Dave:
Engineering is our strength. With Andy joining and our broader team of engineers, we’re ready to bring real firepower to New England.
Shane:
We also have a robust calibration lab, ISO-certified, and five team members with deep experience in thermal applications and NADCAP compliance.
🔎 24:17 – Meet the People Behind Neal Systems
Dominick:
We pause here to meet several key members of the Neal Systems team. You’ll get to see the people supporting you in the field and behind the scenes.
😂 31:00 – The Funny Second Half
Things take a turn…
Dave explains the history of their “King and Queen” portrait, the British accent jokes start flying, Sam Adams is debated (British or American?), and it all ends with a warm beer joke.
Shane:
“Dave said, after the Queen passed, maybe it’s time England takes back over… so we made him King!”
Dominick:
“It’s going to take eight people to replace me!”
This part is laugh-out-loud funny and showcases the fun-loving culture that NETS and Neal Systems share.
38:40 – Final Reflections from Dom
Dominick:
It’s been an amazing ride. I’m proud of what we built — and I’m confident our customers are in excellent hands. Thanks for watching.
